well, i sorta agreee with kel... in fact, i really propose that we start up a company. all 11 of us, would become some form of 'director'... cause, if you think about it, we would be able to use this company for our personal benefits... meaning, like in future, when we need start earning money and have kids (yes, i know it seems a while away), but really, we would be able to use this company to defer and minimise our personal income tax? even when buying a car, it'll be much cheaper if we use a company!

furthermore, with a company, each of us would be listed as directors on the board, or at least half of us, and we'll be able to open a joint trading account, like stock, in which we can invest our money (10 bucks a week, or month), and even have a bank account... which is great in my opinon. and don't worry, we won't be allowed to 'take' out money in case one of us goes astray, cause it'll be like maybe a 'triple' signiture approval thing before anyone of us can withdrawal money. Then we'll be able to divide up the money equally as well...

Practically speaking, with a pool of money, we would be able to do MUCH more, and expect HIGHER returns, with MINIMAL risk... think about it, your'e next flight to jakarta, or australia, could be due to the profits we earn! Like those finer details, i'm sure we'll be able to figure it out, but in all, it's seriously an idea worth considering? It dosen't cost much to register ourselves, and furthermore, what's the harm if anything goes wrong? 10 yrs being friends together wouldn't go down the drain for that miserable 10 extra bucks right?

you know, when everyone starts working, we can pool together 10 bucks a month or something into a "friend" fund. use it for something interesting, be it food, outings, maybe even investment. 11 people, 10 bucks a month, after awhile it becomes big

ok it's official. i'm employed!!!

i got posted to sendai city, in miyagi prefecture; it's one half hours away by train from tokyo.
though initially a lil disappointed they didnt post me to any of my three choices (yokohama, fukuoka or sapporo) i did some background check on sendai and it appears to be a pretty city.
so i'm lookin forward to it.
wish i could pack Andreas in my suitcase, too bad i have no money for extra baggage. hoho.

Ok, i found www.seek.com.au and i'm going crazy with job applications again. sent out another 30 applications in the last 3 days. I've also redone my resume i think its finally starting to pay off with afew PENDING replies.

Anyone who wants their resume looked at just give me a holla and i'll see if i can help!
Melbourne is boring. bleah

hey guys i'm actually looking forward to this coming December standard chartered marathon. for now i'm all set to compete in it but like many times before careful planning is not good enuogh, cause who know i might get a 'real' job before that which means no time to train which translate to no go. so for now the plan is On. i've never run a full marathon before but i did a 24km run during my army days and i clocked 2hr 30mins if i'm not wrong. so i figured coming in under 6hrs will be decent time, do you think thats a little unambitious? i wonder if anyone else interested or else i'll have to fly solo =P

this is my third night in jakarta and all i have been doing is relaxing.
which is great by me; no complaints whatsoever.
i get up the same time andreas does and when he leaves for work i go back to sleep for another hour or so and finally wake up for breakfast and after that basically i have zilch to do. so i sit around reading or watching the telly and attempt to play games online but the internet connection's too slow so i give up and do some more reading and watching of the telly till it's lunchtime. then i wait. till it's 4 or 5 in the afternoon to take the dogs out for a walk. i like this part of the day a lot; adore the dogs and the way they snuggle up their faces and close their eyes when im giving them a rub. then they make a dash for the neighbourhood cats; there's this one cat who absolutely does not give a rats ass to the dogs and sits there nonchalantly even when the dogs are sniffing and barking at it. maybe it relishes the attention the dogs credit to it.
then i simply wait for andreas to come home. i feel like a small woman; it's a funny feeling.

i love being here.

oh and andreas says "hi!"

hey all! how are you guys comming along? well, me and ines bought something which we saw in brisbane the 2nd time we went up 2 weeks ago, and after a long week of waiting, we've finally bought it! 2 omega watches! well, here are some photos...

the box which ines watch came in...
and her watch... notice the ring of bling blings?

and now, for MY watch, which i had plenty of headache deciding if i should get...
this watch is the speedmaster moon to mars...
it's nothing much, like, not something that is highly sought after (patek philippe world time) but not something which people can't be bothered about.. it's just like any watch, except it has some value to it...
anyway, this moon to mars, it's manual winding, so, i have to wind the watch every morning before i go to uni... unlike my gf's, which is automatic... then, for my moon to mars watch, it costs around 400AUD more then the other version, which does not have the planets on the dial.. oh the planets are -----, ----,----. if you don't know what are the planets, i think you seriously need to go back to Mr Sim's Geography class...
anyway, back to the 400AUD topic, the watch costs 400AUD more then the basic version (plain dial), but there is also another version which has SNOOPY on it! AMAZING! which costs 400AUD more then this watch.. which... again makes it 800AUD more then the basic-basic version.. which i wanted to get... but since i got a great deal from hardy brothers, the hour glass of australia, i had to pay only 200AUD more than the basic model, which puts the snoopy like super 'far' away from my price range... like, it dosen't make sense to fork out THAT much for an OMEGA... but the truth is, because my dealer didn't have the snoopy that why i didn't get it..

anyway, when i got this watch, my dealer 'upped' the price by 25AUD.. which greatly pissed me off... cause we agreed on the price, and it was being shipped down from brisbane (when i first saw it). apperantly, the stupid branch manager didn't want to sell it at such a good price to us.. bloody fucker... but anyway, he decided on the 25AUD extra in the end...

wait... more pictures to continue...

as you can see from above, it says 'flight qualified.. blah blah blah... blah blah blah... is it finished? oh, not yet... blah blah blah, blah blah bah...'. yes, the watch apperantly is the same model, which was worn on the mars. and yea... it's kinda cool.. like omega actually made the grade to be used in NASA... which brings me back to the story... apperantly, the watch is mechanical (winding it everyday), because in outer space, there is no gravity, so an automatic watch can't work.. cause, as you know, an automatic watch has a rotar... which turns partly due to the gravity which causes it to 'spin' when you move your hand.. but in space, nono... there isn't gravity, so they must wind it everyday... yea... so, that's why it has to be wound...
then, if you notice, there's this #1831 on the watch. that is the number of this watch.... it's not a limited production, but a numbered production... man... which comes back to why this watch isn't that sought after, or have such a hefty price tag... but the snoopy one, ohhh.. yes, it's a limited edition... 5441 made worldwide.. which is alot in my opinion.... but this watch, there's like some rumor saying that it's hard to come by, and it's also like a 'semi-limited edition' watch.. which whill skyrocket in price once they plan to stop production... yea.. i hope they do stop production! anyway, in case they don't, my backup plan is to buy 4-D with #1831... have this super stong vibe it'll come out as the 1st prize... so better buy $100 BIG, $100SMALL at your nearest Singapore Pools outlet... don't forget to share when you win horz... cause.. i don't have 4-D here.. if not i also buy.. seriously.. unless some kind soul will help me buy?

hmmm... where am i now? oh yea, look at the watch again below:

if you notice carefully, the 'crystal' of the watch, it's slightly convex. the 'crystal' for most watches are usually sapphire crystal (scratch proof), however, for this model in particular, it's not. it's 'hesalite crystal', or something spelt like tt... it's in fact not a crystal! it's a acylic! it's like not just plain acylic, but re-engineered kind.. what's so good about it? hmmm.. nothing? it get scratched more easily then the conventional sapphire crystal... but oh, there's actually a reason! omega says, no, NASA says that sapphire crystal, shatters on impact, and the fragments pose a danger to astronauts, however, this form of crystal, even though it gets scratched more easily (not saying it's easy), it dosen't shatter on impact when smashed... not that i'm gonna try out soon... so, it'll be safe for the astronaut... as, when they enter into the earth's gravitational field again, it would pose no danger...
anyway, i think that about it... i can't imagine you guys continue to read this post.. cause, i know you're all busy... and can't be bothered with watched... but yea.. feel free to ask me any questions.. and yea... i will post the brisbane tripS which i had when i have time again.. so, that's about it! have a nice day and enjoy!

to finish it off, a picture of both watches:
p.s i do like my patek better still, and yes, ines watch costs MUCH more then mine!

me? i'll be back in spore from 28th may-4th june, then i'll most prob come back on 27th june till 10th-ish july, then i'll be off to europe for maybe 2-3 weeks. so, i'll be back again in late july, and i'll be off to australia definately by mid august... i can't say how long i'll be in singapore, cause i'll be travelling to and fro from kl almost on a weekly basis, and also to thailand once...

yo yo people,
please let me know when you are coming back from australia (meaning ben and tianli)! and how long you are going to be in singapore.
thanks thanks!

P.S hey kel, you can only leave in september right?

Photos when i was in brisbane. i know it is a little late.
check out ben man.
he needs a haircut. seriously.
other than that, i think he is having a good time down under. right ben?

this place-little paris- has the best hot chocolate

it seems like japanese food is the in thing in australia. Both ben and tianli brought me to
a japanese restaurant

oh don't both of us look adorable! haha. check out ben's hair!

freestyle ice cream.yum yum

are you thinking what i am thinking. don't you think ben's ice cream resembles a certain male
organ. never knew he has the taste for these kind of things....

our man, ben. feeling at home in his room.

hey, xiao, can you help me ask andreas for grace's number? when you talk to him? can post here when you got it? thanks a million!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. today i will present to you a revolutionary new way to save money on phone bills.

As xiaoling and mingjun will tell you, its clear! yes its cheap too.
www.internetcalls.com.au

Pay $10euros and you can make 120days of free calls to most modern country housephones for free. yes. tahts about $2.50 a month. on top of that, your $10euros can be used as credit to call handphones at around 1 cent per minute for modern countries.

You use your computer mic to call your friends housephone/handphone

And...on top of that.. dum dum dum...............................

You can use your handphone/housephone to call your friends handphone/housephone, and pay only 1c a minute, if you have free incoming calls. The program will call your phone, and call your target's phone, when both of you pick up, u'll be connected to each other via internet. so if both have free incoming, it will only be 1c a minute.

Sounds too good to be true? wrong. it is true.

Ok. only in the life of kelvin tan would these things happen.

Today i thought i lost my wallet. wah panic panic all my money and credit cards and atm cards and ic and michelles picture! the most imp! losT!

wahhh panic panic, call up credit card hotlines 1 by 1 to cancel.

ok, after i called all of them, i walked outside to the living room and I FOUND IT

i just wasted $15 on international calls. what a day.

I removed the stand from my LCD screen to reduce the weight of my luggage. so i needed something to make it stand. I used foam! hahaha world's first lcd monitor without a stand.

there are 3 types of people on earth

1) The person who arrives at work at 9am, puts his legs up to dream, and leaves at 5pm
2) The person who arrives at 5am, and leaves at 9pm, never stopping to dream.
3) The person who dreams for an hour, then does something about it.

I am (1)! what are you. haha

Hello friends. sorry for not saying a proper goodbye, had alot of things to attend to, ya excuses. sorry!

Melbourne is the same, buildings that were under construction when i left are now built. No difference from when you guys last came and now. Desert House is now $7.80!! they increased it by $1. sucks, i need to find a new budget place to eat.

I am now officially a loner! I have no friends! sucks! nevermind la, got books to hit also. Melbourne holds a special place in my heart, but my other half is not here with me, thus it is incomplete.
Life will be much less colourful

hey cyber geeks how are you doing ah?.. it's been a rather quiet month for our very own whiteboard.. the only person seems to be blogging consistently is none other than Big Kel.. actually i don't really have much to bitch about but after what i witnessed last weekend.. i feel that it is my duty to inform all you geeks my amazing discovery.

i was out with a couple of gals last saturday n yes i'm the only guy in the group of let say..erm.. 5 HOT GIRLS (take that "PLAYERS wannabe") at clark quay. we had dinner at this restaurant call tapas tree which serves spanish cuisine and nice cold tiger beer.. after which i was supposed to meet gay boy for the man utd game against watford but luckily i decided to follow my 'head' and chose to go clubbing with the gals instead. as usual the hiphop arena at mos was packed with little room for us to get the groove going thus Gal 'Sz' decided to we should go upstairs to the retro room to check it out and so we did.

i was desperately gulping down throat full of alcohol so that i won't look like a dead fish in the vegetable market. As the alcohol slowly spread through my veins the more retro seems like music to me and after we finished our drinks we head to the dance floor. We were dancing on the fringe of the dance floor when suddenly Gal 'J' made a passed on me. At first i thought she was hitting on me but after blinking my eyes to clear the smoke screen i realised that she was hinting me to look back and so i did.

when i turned my head around, i saw the most audacious act that I've ever seen in my many years in the clubbing scene. This blond gal standing just like 1m away from me was topless and bra less. She looks like she got a big B to a small C cup size n it was some really nice head lights she got there.. being the "gentlemen" i quickly turned back to my ladies so that they won't think that i'm a peeping tom.. wicked right.. but after awhile i cannot help but to turn around again but this time she was dressed up in a gold low cut top which somehow, i really duno how.. managed to expose her nipples..hahahha... and i just have to commit the mistake that every sober men shouldn't do in the club, i looked up to see her face... MY GOD!!!!!!!!.. she's actually a he, coated in layers of power and lip stick.. it was disgusting and the sick part is that a few ang mor actually hit on her after her publicity stunt.. Pui!!!

i will still go mos, i will still go to the retro dance section and i will still drink to my lower limit but i'll never pick any gals up or even dare to think about picking one up in the future. But come to think about it, i've never tried picking one up . i know i am SMART!

ps : Sorry Daryl i should have join you for the soccer match (erm...too gay?)

Hi friends,

If u're feeling depressed, play soccer! because getting dirt from soil on your body makes your body produce anti-depressants, and exercising makes u feel good!

Hello. Dinner 8pm, Sunday, Cafe Del Mar Sentosa. Dress code = formal (i think).
Before that maybe we could go shangrila for coffee for fun.

Anyways. mum was talking in the car today, i have an uncle who graduated from Melbourne Uni at the age of 14 with his first degree. YES 14. He got his PHD at 20!! He is a physicist that works personally with Stephen Hawkings. Though i dunno his full name i will find out! How come i'm not so smart hur hur.

Anyways, i THINK my semester might start on April 17th. Doing my MBA at Latrobe University. The MBA is rated 5 stars in the good uni australian ranking, and top 200 in the world. obviously its rubbish compared to Melb uni but hey, DONT NEED WORKING experience to do! awesome stuff. 1.5 years course. i plan to drop out after 6 months, after i get my PR and start working, then transfer to the Melbourne Uni one eventually when i have enough working experience. Not too bad a plan.

Once i get my PR i'm going TO GET MY DOG. Damnit i keep saying i am going to get a dog but i'm always so unsettled. I WANT MY DOG!!

My friend working is working full time at a supermarket in melbourne while waiting for his PR. He said i can apply to work there too. They are paying around $20 to $25 and hour. quite good right, can make a decent living. I will probably try to get it so i dont have to live of mums money. so bad. so old still eating parents money.

Anyways, these nxt 2 weeks are going to be sad days, i'll be migrating to Australia, get my PR, and maybe live there for a very long time. I do hope you guys come down and take a break from this fast and often life draining island. Accomodation is always free, and love is in abundance. (To Jennifer, Hilton Melbourne SUXXX my house better!) . May the future bring us all back on the same path again. Till then, peace out.

Employment pass rejected.
Anyways, i'll probably reschedule the dinner to saturday, around 730 so more people can make it, and its more convenient.

Hello again friends, another update to my complicated situation.

Mum suggested that i go back to Melb Uni and do a postgraduate course. Yea thats right, i'm going to be a Master of the sea. Lame.

Ok anyway, the plan is that while applying for PR i can do something useful like get my masters, then after that work. when i start work, desmond(my brother) will finish NS and head down to study, then we will sell the house here and live there for awhile.

The plan will probably deviate but hey, no harm planning still

Hi guys, just an update on my situation. I had my application to extend my stay in singapore rejected, so its safe to say that on those grounds, my employement pass would be rejected too. So I've probably got to leave by saturday, going to stay at my uncles place, he said his house was nice though i dont believe him. haha. i havent seen it. oh well

hey... what happened to you guys? seem to have a relatively quiet blog now!

anyway, i went for the harbour bridge walk... 75th year since the bridge has been built so it's something like a celebration in sydney... it has quite alota history in it cause it was built in a time of depression, post war, independence, political turmoil etc etc...

but to put it simply, they just closed it up for just today so we can walk across it and enjoy this fantastic sydney landmark and it's sights and sounds! aerial displays throughtout the day, free entertainment, loads of activities etc etc... absoultely wonderful...

well, i've gotta say, it's somewhat impressive walking across the bridge, and the amount of people! i heard around a million people walked across it just today! but the thing is, it sorta made me feel kinda aussie... like... i've been practically here almost all the time in my studies! experiencing the 4 seasons, for 4 straight years, spending more then 90% of the year here (legally, my domicile is australia, unlike alot of students who cannot legally state that)... i'm anyway, i'm starting to get kinda fond of this place! a quality of life unmatched anywhere! really!

Does it look good or what!!!

I didnt go to work today, was tired of the same tasks i do everyday. So i decided to stay home, sleep to 1, take a day off to relax. Got BORED. So i made a model of my house! its not complete but hmmm 1/2 way there

HDB Block in 3D! ok i must admit its abit hard to visualise

yay i have finally graduated from Singapore Airlines Training Centre.
the 3 and a half months was quite crappy man.
there were fun times as well, but mostly very boring times.
anyways from here on, i am going to fly solo, doing flights on my own- a little afraid.
but i am quite excited to be seeing the world- i hope.

why do i say "i hope"?
Because most of the time i am super tired to even go out.
i think the only things i see are the airport and disgusting hotels.
the hilton in perth is quite shitty.
what i am really really excited about is the money $$$$-haha.

so now i am on one week's leave.
after that i think you won't see me around most of the time.
so lets meet up, while i still can.

P.S anyways ben i will be flying to brisbane on the 20th of april(FRI) and leaving on the 22th of april (SUN), so will you be free then to meet up? you better man!

and tian i will be flying to sdyney on the 5th april (THU) and leaving on 6th april (FRI) which is practically the next day. so we might not be able to meet up afterall. we see la.

Hello friends. Hope everyone is doing fine with sch/work.
Been pretty tied up with work the past 2 weeks, had stuff to clear. Another week gone, another week of free labour gone, another week closer to my super slow Employment Pass verdict. I had my presentation with the CEOs today. They're not as scary as i thought they would be. They seem pretty down to earth and were quite chatty. The presentation went so smoothly we only took 1 hour though it was supposed to be 3 hours. I like the recognition i get from my job but i dont particulary like my job. Then again who doesnt like compliments. heh. The professor and i are the only people working on ways to design residential buildings/houses to reduce electricity consumption. The CEOs call it "World leading ground breaking research" i call it wawaweewa more compliments please. ok enough.

Anyways, i went down to the IT show. If you dont want anything to buy. DON't Go. Let me explain why. when you take MRT from city hall, to get to suntec you need to go through city link. The queue was from the exit door up the escalator in city link, over the overhead bridge linking to suntec, and into suntec. Better drive. Its pretty packed inside too. Rude, uneducated, oily sticky smelly kanchiong people will delight all senses. Didnt see anything special.

I've got to leave Singapore by 25th March if i dont get my employment pass and cant enter the country probably for a month or two. Will probably head back to aussie to get my PR. Lets hope it doesnt have to end like that.

Anyways, have a nice weekend, see those of you going for tharins thing tmr.

its kinda sad that i havent blogged anything interesting thats been happening cuz nothing much has happened. which might not necessarily be a bad thing.

look at andreas' country; it really is a messed up place.
and this year hasn't been very lenient on the people; when bad things happen, they come one after another. not very good. they have so much bad stuff going on for them that they probably wish their lives were as mundane as mine and yours (if you think yours is just as boring).

anyway, to give a lil update on yufan's work life since he hardly ever blogs:
he's been training and learning about the workings of a bank and trying very hard not to doze off in class.
they have english lessons and role-plays in class.
he looks forward to lunch time and tea breaks.
his classmates think he's a goody-two-shoes cuz he's never gone clubbing in jakarta so they plan to get him drunk tomorrow night.
he has a colleague who adheres to the teachings of confuscious;
that is, confuscianism is actually her religion.
another colleague is a hardcore sms-er.
his class is full of colourful people.
by the end of april (i think) he'll be posted out of jakarta, hopefully to bali cuz he wants to go there and i have straight flights there too (so i dont have to fear for my life on board indonesia's airlines).
so then we can all go to bali and have free accomodation!!

Hey guys, anyone interesting in working fri/sat/sun nxt weekend, $50 for 8 hrs. promotions. let me know if interested i'll give ya more details. thx

hello hello. i have the tickets to tharins commissioning, 5 tickets, and 1 carpark paper. he says they dont check so everyone should be able to make it. Not sure what time it is he hasnt told me or i forgot.

Anyways jen u were right! the line has nice food. they renovated the place since i last went, shiok! I've been working on doing up my room this week, check out my new desk!

2 monitors combo into 1! never can complain about not having enough space on my desktop anymore hohohoho
