Yes boys and girls its time again for..... DID U KNOW!
Did you know that...
1) you could light a fire with water?! just fill a clear plastic bag with water, and hang it in front of paper. It acts as a magnifying glass when the sun is up.
2) Fish in japan are now hypnotized before transported to restaurants, as their meat is more tender when they are under less stress. Fish can be hypnotized by simply pressing against a certain part of their spine. Its a company secret! no one knows
3) Chicken can be hypnotized too! just point their head to the ground and draw a line perpendicular to their body direction and they will stay in that position for alittle more than a minute.
4) Sharks can be hypnotized too! turn them upside down and they just lie there
5) Once a month when women are in the fertile part of their cycle they prefer muscular and more masculine looking men, and thats when they will cheat!
6) The north pole is continually moving due to the movement of iron in the earths core. True north is no longer the north pole
7) The earth's magnetic field is caused by all the iron in the earths core. Earth is like a big magnet
8) Generally Asians, Native americans have "Dry" ear wax, and caucasians have "Wet" ear wax. There are only 2 types of ear wax in the world. People with "Wet" eat wax have bigger breasts, and have smelly armpits
9) Dogs are excellent rock climbers! like goats
10) Did you know will be back soon!

The funds requested for my research project has been cleared. The dean requested $100k for this years funding.
I get to buy a $4,000 computer and a $4,000 laptop for free~!!! all part of the funds!
And i was cleared $50k of that funds for my salary. dont think i'll get all of it because i'm not very qualified(but i hope i get more!)
Anyways, i need help from you guys, and i may be paid for it. I'm not sure if i'm going to be paid, but if i am, i'll distribute the funds for each survey form returned back to me.
Basically, i need to have about 250-500 people fill up a form for me. They
MUST live in
HDB/Apartments, and
MUST have
air con. Its a survey on people's energy usage in singapore. Think of me as the person who is making singapore a greener country hur hur. If everyone helps me with 30 forms each my life would be so much simpler, i'll keep u guys updated!
Thanks again!

a lecturer from the department of sociology had a heart attack yesterday in the midst of a consultation with an honours student and died. i've never been taught by him since the soci dept is kinda kinda large but i was just as surprised when a classmate who was supposed to take his module told me this afternoon. his class was obviously cancelled.
i thought about how helpless the honours student in his office must have been when the lecturer collapsed out of the blue and i pictured the student with his eyes wide open and jaw gaping for possibly three seconds (which is a really long time in those circumstances. i wonder how the honours student is doing right now).
then i wondered if i would have had the sense to respond immediately. i think i would be rather traumatised by the incident and wondered if i had said or done anything that might have triggered the cardiac arrest. i think i might have felt responsible in a way for his death.
i think i would have felt guilty for being the last person to see him alive.
then i thought about the lecturer's age. he's not very old, probably around my mom's age, mid-fifties; and since the average life span has increased to 77yrs for men and 81yrs for women, his death can be considered premature. then i wondered if he exercised regularly while he was alive. then i started worrying about my mom. think im going to ask her to start exercising more, keep the heart pumping strong.
so, youpeoplewhomimeetonearth, take good care of your health.

I'm bored, so im going to do a "Did u know?" post! hah
1) Did u know if you put 2 cups filled with water, of same volume, with 1 at 80 degrees celsius, and 1 at 30 degrees celsius, the cup at 80 degrees celsius freezes first
2) Did u know that scientists have made a teleport machine, to teleport an electron/photon up to 3 metres away from its original destination
3) Did u know that children that grow up with pets have a 50% less chance of developing allergies
4) Did u know that swiss banks are not loaning money to ski resorts at an altitude less than 1500m due to global warming
5) Did u know that in europe, a single cow can provide fuel to run a small locomotive train for 30km. The shit from the cow is stored in a tank, after the cow has been chopped and all the meat/leather has been sold, the remainder of the cow(yes including the bones) is minced and poured into the tank of shit. The mixture produces methane which is then used to power the train.
6) Did u know that humans can smell as well as dogs, the common belief that dogs have a superior sense of smell is rubbish, its just that we havent practised in a million years. Afew practice lessions and we can be chase dogs
7) Did you know pandan valley is located almost dead centre from cq and jens house! Using google earth
8) Did you know that the Courts bonanza sale on home appliances rocks!
9) Did you know that your eye is least sensitive to blue in the centre, and most sensitive to red in the centre, whereas it is the opposite in your peripheral vision.
10) Did you know that did you know will make its next appearance soon?!

Sianz... tomorrow is monday... super sianz....
i hate the feeling of mondays....
it is so hard to fall in love with my job.
i feel like i am in school- with the CCA system and demerit point system.
i am being treated like a kid, not a working adult.
i was down with food poisoning recently. after the new year.
i think it was the oysters. and super suay la, because before that i had flu and cough. shitty.
anyways i was dying and i can't take any medical certificate (MC) to exucse myself cause if we miss 2 classes, we will be transferred/ if we end up missing an important class, we will be transferred. and so i had to drag my sorry ass to school.
i have mixed feelings about flying.
i have no idea how to put theory in practice.
yet i am excited about the places that i will be going to.
i am looking forward to chinese new year! long weekend.
see you guys next weekend!

Hello, haven't blogged in awhile, been slacking at home the past few days. I'm waiting to apply for my job and hopefully if everything goes well my Employment Pass will be approved in january and i can start working.
I'm working as a Research Engineer, the position doesnt reflect the real job though, im supposed to program a piece of software the calculates energy usages of buildings. Every single office building has to comply with energy usage standards and currently i think only 2 exist so the government is pushing NUS to further develop their software so they can say something nice to the public! haha.
People who don't comply with the standards set get a huge fine smacked on their ass.
So thats where i come in. i'm writing it! so if i fail all the companies gonna have a headache :S
I think its a tough job, but there are some plusses to it. The pay i hear is at least $2.5k a month, we may be looking at $3k? im not sure i sure hope so. And on top of that, if i work for them for 2 years, i can write a thesis and get a MASTERS! how good is that. paid to study.
But the down side is that i don't get cpf because i'm not singaporean. A normal singaporean worker has 20% of his/her pay deducted. But their employer will refund 13% to that persons cpf. so basically he is only taxed 7%. IM NOT SINGAPOREAN so i get taxed 20%. that sucks.
If i get my employment pass approved we're looking at me doing NS sometime soon! yes! ns! shit i thought i could escape. oh well, i hope i can stay in singapore. Australia pays well but no amount of money can buy friends/family and chicken rice. I'll update u guys soon!

hey guys!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! in advance!
poor me... my Boyfriend has abandoned me to go clubbing at MOS. haha.
actually it is more like i can't afford to go clubbing. cause i need to study for my exams.
shitty. i thought i was over and done with exams forever.
the Exciting thing is that i will be going on my first flight in Feb! i will be going to Hong Kong(Sianz) and Auckland(yay!). but until then, i got to pass my stage one exams. there is really alot more to being a flight stewardess than the horrible makeup, the uniform and the red new polish.
anyways i was thinking, lets celebrate NEW YEAR together ya? Since almost everyone is in Singapore. Partners are invited as well. You guys can come to my place for dinner/poker/mahjong/drinks/karaoke. I book you guys first. and we can pop the champagne( i will try to get one) I will make sure that everyone is well taken care of- SIA style haha.
okie guys.

hey guys and gals next year is going to be a decade since we know each other... so me n the guys were discussing at brewerks the other day while quenching our thirst on 4l of golden ale..that y not we have a party to mark the occasion.. we can get a room ( similar to that of ben's 21st party mayb abit smaller)that fit everyone of u niggas in.. tian suggested that we can purchase a party peg from brewerks.. which can feed us all the beer our small belly can hold... plus the other 'goodies' in our stash... so in order for that spark to turn into fire .. i hope that each and everyone of you contribute to make this thought become a reality.. instead of relying on others to do all the work and for you to enjoy.. cause that will show nothing of our decade old friendship.. No excuses, it boils down to how much you really want it.. so if you want it "MAKE IT HAPPEN WHoooHAaa"

surprise surprise i was at MOS last night as well.
and yeah there were tons of dickheads around. went to THE CLINIC which was a new club opened by MOS as well. it has a much older crowd inside. And the toilets are so Clinical- haha i guess thats why it is called the clinic- duh right.
Saw some of my batch mates at MOS, and they are really different... in class everyone is so prim and proper. but once they are outside they are a totally different person!it is so tiring to wake up for work at 530am and head down to STC (Singapore airlines training centre) which is at changi. by the time 830pm comes around, my eyelids will be closing. and i still have 3 more months to go man. my first test is coming up. got to start studying... sian... all the country codes and airport names- i am so not looking forward to it.anyways i got free tickets to go party at 6 places at clarke quay. and free drinks as well! because of MTV. cool. but i don't want to see myself on television man. i sounded so fake. cause i had to say what they wanted me to say. i will cringe man if i see myself.

as usual mos was packed with more then enough bananas than oranges, i think the ratio is like 9 : 1. the results of having so much bananas surrounding you while you groove to the beat is the pushing and shoving, unwanted stares and an overdose of egos around. And i cannot stand bananas thinking they can get every orange in the club as and when they please.. saw alot trying to hard to dance next to orange only for the oranges to 'roll' into a more comfortable zone.. assholes!.. but on a brighter note this time around only yy got wasted, ron and his fren got checked out by ladies boy outside the club man.. they were like sitting on the curb hanging when 2 ladies boy went to sit beside them...hahaha... the 'gal' who sat beside ron actually looks super duper hot man... with big eyes, big breast and maybe a bigger d***.. she got an exotic look in her man, so wasted that she's in between..hhaa.. the one who sat beside ron's fren is not as hot but she basically show us like 3/4 of his boobs..and he tease ron's fren until he dare not move..ahahah..the thing is there like 20 ladies boy hanging there man.. n most r quite hot.. n they are all from thailand.. and the best part is when one of the ladies boy saw the police he shouted some thai words and in split secs u can see all of them from no where sprint out of sight.. amazing feat consider they were dress in short tight mini skirts and high heels..Unbelievable.. and this mexican gay like talk to us and ask us where got gay massage parlor... we hang man seriously..then yy told him to go geylang or orchard tower to try his luck..ahhaha.. so many weird pples hanging around the club.. not a very safe place to be in or out. the moral of the story don't try to pick anyone in the club, might have dire consequences.

Although i finished my exams a week ago, today most of my other course mates finished theirs. We spent the day playing poker and talking about our futures. I realised that employment and results arent exactly correlated, i had a friend who got a $55k starting pay job with toyota without any honors. Thats pretty darn good for starting pay, especially if u've failed subjects before.
We spent the afternoon talking about what we were going to do with our lives, and when we would get to meet up as a big happy group again. We decided that it would be possible every 10 years given that once each of us lead our own seperate lives it would be hard. Somehow i believe that every single one of them will be successful in the individual paths that they take. I've never met a bunch of people who absorb and thirst knowledge as much as they do, i should have met them earlier in my life when i was hanging.
Its amazing how some of them are expected to relieve their parents of the family businesses upon graduation, and not feel the expectations already pinned on their shoulders. Instead many of them have dreams that i swear cannot possibly fail if they continue doing what they do. Some people are just born with such drive and vigor. I've always wanted that but i still find myself idling around.
Graduation is in 2 1/2 weeks time, and there is a final gathering afew days before then. Stage 2 of our lives are in orientation and about to begin. I can only hope to be half as successful as the rest of you will become. See you in 10 years time.

i currently have four gaping holes in between my teeth, had them extracted because i'll be braced next friday.braces with nice hot pink brackets, thats what im looking forward to. or maybe i shall dress it up a bit for christmas and have hot pink (instead of red) and green? nah..green will look like i have chye sim stuck on my teeth so better not, be on the safe fashion side and so i shall stick to hot pink brackets.sacrifices must be made in order to achieve straight wonderful teeth so... so long my four teeth!i shall miss your company and your assistance in chewing solid food which i am currently unable to have any cuz i seriously cannot chew. i tried a small teeny puny piece of my beloved spicy bak kwa and lo and behold, i really cannot chew with four teeth missing. let me tell you how useless your front teeth actually are. they dont do anything really. they're just there.oh i havent told you about the extractions and how cool the dentist's instruments are. they are so cool. they numb your gums with this green cream that looks just like zambak but smells like mint. then there's this anaesthesia that makes a loud "POP" sound which numbs your palate then the dentist injects anaesthesia into your gums and lets you wait for three minutes before using this cool tool to kinda pry the tooth out then using a plier he grabs your tooth and shakes it pretty violently to yank it out and viola! then they stitch you up real quick.the procedure really isn't that bad, except when they're yanking out the tooth on the lower set of teeth then you feel your entire jaw shake along and then it feels sore for a short while. but when the anaesthesia wears off, it's not painful, just a lil sore, a bit like how it might feel if someone punched you but i wouldnt know, havent been punched and not wanting to be either. so you just gotta deal with walkin around with a gauze-like cotton stuck in between your teeth and paranoid about your drooling cuz you cant feel shit and youre still bleeding but other than the un-glam factor, it's not that bad. hooray for dentists! and braces with pretty hot pink brackets and other pretty colours! and perfectly wonderful straight teeth!

Ello guys! how is everyone doing? most probably busy with exams!so good luck good luck.this is what my friends's father said to her:when we are young, we tend to be very very close to our friends.but as we grow older, we find ourselves drifting apart, as people forge different paths, make new friends, start to build a family. We still feel close but it is difficult to keep in touch and make time.however, once we reach 60, that is when we will become close again, taking off where it was left.so guys, see you when i am 60! hahaold friends are gold.P.S : i can't believe that SIA makes the cabin crew pay for their own luggage, and make up... considering that they are so RICH. i am going to be broke.

im supposed to be writing my essay on the aspirations of the elderly and how they cope with the aging but here i am writing to rave about the movie i just watched with dreas, 'the prestige'. i was wondering throughout the movie how two grown men with so much facial hair can behave the way they do; like felines in a cat fight, only much better. their jealousy and thirst for revenge initially made me empathise then i couldnt help but think "grow up and move on already!" cuz they end up rivalling for a different cause from when they first began. is it really necessary to go through all that trouble just to win, what are you trying to prove? a lot of times it's just smarter to let go instead of getting noosed.
brilliantly smart movie with smooth delivery, go watch it.

Fortunately, my sister is going with me this time round (the last time round was just my mum and me), so at least i have someone to talk to. plus, there are cute hongkie guys, so i can look see, look see. 1) shuyi/shoobs- super tall man. the girl next door. writes super damn well. very accomplished.
2) ternima- best friends with shuyi. from bangladesh. super pretty and hot. very good PR skills.
3) sha sha- va va voom body. totally not muslim. like pork. editor of children assessment books.
4) zhen- fashion writer. super sweet and tolerant. baby of the group. gets bullied by us all the time.
5) me!- super hot mama of the group. haha. needs no introduction.
6) serene/ser- ambitious, independent, strong and capable. super loyal friend.
so anyways lets go to the line, someday when we are all rich. (hint: tharin, you birthday coming right?)
