how i wish i had my canon along last night to frame this rather rare and idyllic moments that can only surface with the blessing/curse of good spirits and a bunch of seemingly "nothing in common" individuals. In fact i had so much laughs that unknowingly i was laughing at my own 'jokes', weird i know but so is everyone last night. well most of our time there were spent breast feeding mosquitoes, not all of us have boobs and i'm sure you know it's not done through the nipples, but a certain individuals in the group seems to demonstrate early warning signs of 'moobs' symptoms; slightly enlarged chest clearly visible in tight fitting Ts.

Dr Huang's humble medical advice: get a life and sign up for ippt next week(you know who you are).

As we frolic through the culture, language and streets of Barcelona, it dawns on me that this catalans sure are a bunch of slacker who starts work in mid day, lunch at tea break, knocks off before dawn and have dinner as supper. And for a city that's half the size of singapore why they need twice or thrice as much pubs/clubs and who the hell clubs at 3 in the morning??? but on a brighter note they have some fantastic architectures like the sagrada familia church, park guell...etc, some not very hot spanish babes, a wicked football club and an insatiable thirst for the good life. but still i think the place is interesting enough and i count upon myself to verify the truthfulness of the some what absurd claim that spanish chicks ain't that hot, WTF!

Hi, excuse me. Can we have a bottle of this and there seems to have room inside, can we shift there?

now that we're off the radar and in comfort, there seems to be this buzzing silence looping between our ears. awkward? Nope. breather? maybe. the point of no return, the best i can summarise. making fun of neighbours curry and lingerie, pulling thin threads into individuals life, classy(none racist) jokes and more drinks and food. we're living it,Spain.

I'm sure we're the menace there. think about it yeah, if you have 3 blokes decked in faded berms and t-shirts tryna enter a wine bistro in dempsey road, how do you think the wo(man) at the door will react? simple. please proceed to the backyard cause there are more seats there. Smart!

well the night seems to fly by and how i wish i can say that about work. Eric Clapton doing one of his all time great on radio and my god how can i resist not to lend my voice to tighten up the high key portion of it."Baby if i could...changee... the world", as good as it sounds, the other two back ups seriously ain't up to the mark. we reached our destination, ordered $10 worth of chicken and 3 bowls of rice. nothing much to comment on, other than the fact that they are a little stingy with the meat. well i guess if u hire 7-9 people to idle through the night obviously the cost vs portion will be subjected to micro economics scrutiny.

the song i posted, Sarah Mclanclan - Adia. i don't know why but it has been playing in my head since last night. maybe she's right " ...It’s easy, we all falter... but does it matter?". To your fantastic company,Arriba, abajo, al centro, para adentro!

Hi all! Today i'm in a good mood... why? because i did something no other rational trader would do! I sold off shares which i bought yesterday.

For those of you who didn't know, the sharemarkets around the world has suffered the WORST streak of losses, even SINGAPORE was also was losing, what was called a BULL market is now officially a BEAR market. Think about black friday, if you guys know? Yea, for the past couple of months (especially since the beginning of 2008), losses on the stockmarket has been so much till it's somewhere the 2006 level. Yesterday, the Australian Stock Exchange recorded a 7% decline! That's around a 25% decline since it's november high. Disgusting, it's like even blue chip companies losing 2/3 their value. E.g, DBS was $25, Now $16!

Anyway, as i said, yesterday dipped 7%, people were busy selling the shares they had. Even popular stocks were soooo oversold that there was even nobody bidding to buy for it! NOBODY WANTED TO BUY! EVERONE'S CASHING OUT! But yours truly, believed in the markets, believed in the 'quality' education i had received from my university, belived in the technical analysis which i've been reading up, and most importantly believed from the much experienced i had gained over the past 4 years of trading was to be put to a good test now!

I was chatting with kelvin, and wilson (ben's friend) with regards to the market. I told them that it was indeed a good day to buy, and i was definately sure that tomrrow will be a better day (but 99% of the traders out there disagreed). I analysed and re-analysed and RE ANALYSED the markets, the companies, and the logic! It all dosen't make sense for the over sold shares! Both shrugged me off with ridicule... haha.. not really, but somewhere along the same line... negative sentiment runs deep in everyone who has been burnt!

Therefore, i plucked up enough courage, put money into a stock which is close to everyone's heart, SINGTEL! Yups, i went ahead and bought some of it's shares! Then, that night, i went to sleep, thinking what beholds the market the next day (today).

And when i was in a cofffee shop having breakfast, i read the news on my handphone, the US Feds cut the rates by 0.75%! The boldest move yet by them to stem the market slide! A true blessing from the gods! It's something like the government of spore saying they're re-building the whole of Orchard Road! Think of how much stimulation it would do to the economy!

The 'CONTRACT' of me buying

The 'Contract' of me Selling.

See the differenced i earned? It was almost AUD3K in just a short 24Hrs... If only i could do it evey day! But what's the shitty thing? Singtel shares reached a high of AUD3.03 today but i sold them off at AUD2.85 (just to ensure i made something)... meaning selling around 18cents below the 'high'... This mean that i could have earned over AUD6K today! Damnnit! AUD6k... tt's like almost SGD10K... w-o-w.

However i remembered what i read in this book which taught me much knowledge about share trading...
*you'll never go broke with a profit, you'll only go broke losing*

True, and something to be revered.

I'm looking at the australian government website for superannuation(cpf) and planning out my salary package.

I think its quite similar to the contribution singapore that the singapore government has and i think its a good way to not only save money, but to generate some extra cash.

Australian Government puts in an extra $1.50 for every $1 extra you put into your superannuation. Thats alot of free money. But it is capped at $1500. And for every $1 in salary you make above $28,980, they contibute $0.05 less.

So lets say Mr Chia Tian Li Makes $40k a year (ya i know quite little), the government will contribute a maximum of $949 extra a year into his superannuation if he contributed $632.

So every year thathe works until his pay hits $58,980, he can receive extra contribution from the government. Pay $632 a year for $949 extra a year, where else on earth do you get such a deal!

Dear Kelvin,
I must congratulate you, you are the outstanding candidate of today.
I will be very surprised if you do not score highly in our assessment process.
Nonetheless, we have to follow due process and all interviewers must have a fair chance in expressing their views.
Re your answer to the crane question...........try harder.

The guy pointed to a crane in the opposite building during the interview and asked me how to dismantle it, anyone got any idea? i said remove the base step by step. sigh, stress!!

Just finished my interview!
I think it went pretty good!
From over 200 people cut to 24 people, then cut to 11 people, then cut to 6 people, then choosing only 4!

I skipped the first 2 rounds of interview by some odd chance, they just called me up to the office.
Now i'm just waiting for the offical "YES YOU GOT THE JOB".
Interview was pretty strange, went for an hour, he asked me where i was from, where my parents were from, why never do army, why never stay in malaysia. Ask me to imagine i'm miss world, other than world peace and $$ what else i want.

Funny

yo guys! in zurich again for the second time. this time round i went up to the mountains. it was snowing in the city and snowing very heavily up in the mountains. so it was fun- only for a while. it was freaking cold man, like minus 30 degrees and i had no gloves, and was wearing pumps! thought i was going to lose my toes!
okie going to eat. see ya soon!

A NEW global cancer report has warned against eating classic Aussie fry-ups, including sausages and bacon, because of their links to cancer.

The report urges people to avoid processed meats completely.

Salami, ham, bacon, corned beef and sausages all come under fire in the largest study yet into the links between lifestyle and disease.

Obesity topped the list as a high cancer risk, being linked to six cancers: oesophagus, pancreas, bowel, breast cancer, endometrium and kidney cancer.

Alcohol was also a threat, linked to mouth, oesophagus and breast cancer, and surprisingly red and processed meats were shown to have a "convincing increased risk" of colorectal (bowel) cancer.

The project reviewed 7000 studies carried out over 40 years and provided consumers with a list of recommendations.

They were:

PEOPLE were advised to stay trim.

LIMIT your red meat intake to less than 500g a week.

AVOID processed meats.

AVOID sugary drinks.

DRINK alcohol in moderation.

DO at least 30 minutes of exercise every day.

Hello people, i recenty tied up an agreement with the main wholesaler for Logitech products in Australia. Can get any product you wish for. Let me know if anyone wants anything, then i'll just place an order and bring it back for you when i get back. Cost price of course, duh.

I feel very much like an overlived person.
I have outlived everyone that has ever come to Australia, so much so that i have absolutely no one i can confide in on a personal level.
I will continue to outlive the various influxes of students for the many years to come and will again be stuck with the lack of good buddies to talk to. I now dread every next day that comes.
Sometimes i wonder if life is as good as it is said to be because as of now, it seems as if the whole world has disappeared to start life in another galaxy.
My spirit has been broken, i am broken.

Everyone has a darker side which should stay hidden

hey guys, i just came back from milan, the fashion capital. but alas, it was not as great as i imgained it to be. maybe because half the time was spent slacking at the hotel, eating and sleeping. haha. this is what happens when i have a friend on the flight. italian food is really bad over in milan. it resembles a little like dog food, gross. surprise surprise they eat quite abit of raw food togetehr with olive and vinegar, which is not my cup of tea at all! they drink tons of coffee, and they do it standing up. like just gulp it down and off they go. there are absolutely no starbucks there, well, i did not see any. i was starving to death there. i ate like roasted chicken for dinner 3 days in a row, and like macs twice. how sad. even the pizza there taste strange. the italian food we have overseas is really the watered down version.

this cathedral is very very beautifull. i think it is constantly under construction. it is located at DUMO- a walking street like orchard road. just come out of the subway and you will see this mother huge cathedral.

me outside the ferrari shop

me at the railway station. waititng for my train to venice which is at 755am. it is a three hours train journey there. oooh, quite excited.

finally we are here at venice. the train ride was a tad bit uncomfortable. because of the constrained leg space. tian li you would have died in there.

my batch girl and me. that is venice behind us! water and more water everywhere.

the gonzola. it is freaking expensive i tell you. 80 euros for the nicer ones like this and 60 euros for the not so grand one. i ended up taking the ferry ride which was their main mode of transport which cost 6 euros.

another picture of venice. venice is full of hotels everywhere. and their mode of survival is tourism. basically the whole of venice looks like this, you can see in the next few photos. it was sunday, so most of the shops were closed.

one of the many shops selling all these face mask. venice is famous for these masks. they are expensive i tell you. but very beautiful and scary looking. they don't allow us to take a picture inside the shop, only outside.

okay my train is here. and my ticket back to milan. i got bored of venice after 5 hours there. but it is a nice place to go, something very different. you don't see any buses or trams or cars over there. just lots of boats, ferries and water. ciao ciao!

HEY!!! i just came back from the south coast of NSW... totally beautiful! anyway, i bought heaps of oysters back, and here's how i shucked them... anyway, it's god damn difficult, but heaps of fun! when you guys come to australia, we'll have a shucking contest! *sorry jen, i know you get turned off by oysters*

Just 10% of the oysters i bought!

An oyster

My lousy knife to open the oyster (to open the shell. it's super duper tight).. it's kinda melted cause i left it on the BBQ grill last time.. HAHA...

This is to shuck the oyster.

Insert the blade to the pointy side of the oyster. then TWIST the blade for leverage.

not easy to keep the shell open!

before bathe time!

yummy... rinsing it to make sure it's 'clean'

i like the look of it!

whole plate worth of it!

final touches, a bottle of cheap white wine, but, such a perfect match.
