it is that time of the year again.
full steam ahead for the exams. my last one in fact.
i am still unsure about how i feel towards graduation.
it is like the end of one's life, the closing of a chapter, the beginning of new things to come.
i feel apprehensive yet excited, and relieved about not having to worry about datelines, and horrible group mates. yet i know i will miss the freedom that comes to being a student. the small little things like the access to the nus central library (the abundance of books avaliable that one could feast onto), the flexiblity of the timetable, the ability to make mistakes, the time to go chill out and have a nice chat with friends, the sports complex, the cheap food at the arts canteen, and lastly the ability to act like a kid.
somehow or rather once you start working, you are a responsible and fully fledged adult, who sooner or later would be caught up in the rat race, trying to forge out a career path, trying to fulfil expectations/or rather not disappoint. soon you would be judged by your achievements, your salary, your job... everyone seems in a hurry to go out and search for a job. just anything would do as long as i have one. i feel the societal pressure to go out and search for a job immediately as well after the exams. my grand plans of just working in some lousy, no prestige part time job for maybe a year does not seem to fit right into the grand schemes of most people. and then there is always the parents factor, hovering over you, asking when can they stop giving and start receiving.
soon my wings would be set free and i got to fly on my own.
it sure does feel like a lonely flight ahead.
