hey all! how are you guys comming along? well, me and ines bought something which we saw in brisbane the 2nd time we went up 2 weeks ago, and after a long week of waiting, we've finally bought it! 2 omega watches! well, here are some photos...

the box which ines watch came in...
and her watch... notice the ring of bling blings?

and now, for MY watch, which i had plenty of headache deciding if i should get...
this watch is the speedmaster moon to mars...
it's nothing much, like, not something that is highly sought after (patek philippe world time) but not something which people can't be bothered about.. it's just like any watch, except it has some value to it...
anyway, this moon to mars, it's manual winding, so, i have to wind the watch every morning before i go to uni... unlike my gf's, which is automatic... then, for my moon to mars watch, it costs around 400AUD more then the other version, which does not have the planets on the dial.. oh the planets are -----, ----,----. if you don't know what are the planets, i think you seriously need to go back to Mr Sim's Geography class...
anyway, back to the 400AUD topic, the watch costs 400AUD more then the basic version (plain dial), but there is also another version which has SNOOPY on it! AMAZING! which costs 400AUD more then this watch.. which... again makes it 800AUD more then the basic-basic version.. which i wanted to get... but since i got a great deal from hardy brothers, the hour glass of australia, i had to pay only 200AUD more than the basic model, which puts the snoopy like super 'far' away from my price range... like, it dosen't make sense to fork out THAT much for an OMEGA... but the truth is, because my dealer didn't have the snoopy that why i didn't get it..

anyway, when i got this watch, my dealer 'upped' the price by 25AUD.. which greatly pissed me off... cause we agreed on the price, and it was being shipped down from brisbane (when i first saw it). apperantly, the stupid branch manager didn't want to sell it at such a good price to us.. bloody fucker... but anyway, he decided on the 25AUD extra in the end...

wait... more pictures to continue...

as you can see from above, it says 'flight qualified.. blah blah blah... blah blah blah... is it finished? oh, not yet... blah blah blah, blah blah bah...'. yes, the watch apperantly is the same model, which was worn on the mars. and yea... it's kinda cool.. like omega actually made the grade to be used in NASA... which brings me back to the story... apperantly, the watch is mechanical (winding it everyday), because in outer space, there is no gravity, so an automatic watch can't work.. cause, as you know, an automatic watch has a rotar... which turns partly due to the gravity which causes it to 'spin' when you move your hand.. but in space, nono... there isn't gravity, so they must wind it everyday... yea... so, that's why it has to be wound...
then, if you notice, there's this #1831 on the watch. that is the number of this watch.... it's not a limited production, but a numbered production... man... which comes back to why this watch isn't that sought after, or have such a hefty price tag... but the snoopy one, ohhh.. yes, it's a limited edition... 5441 made worldwide.. which is alot in my opinion.... but this watch, there's like some rumor saying that it's hard to come by, and it's also like a 'semi-limited edition' watch.. which whill skyrocket in price once they plan to stop production... yea.. i hope they do stop production! anyway, in case they don't, my backup plan is to buy 4-D with #1831... have this super stong vibe it'll come out as the 1st prize... so better buy $100 BIG, $100SMALL at your nearest Singapore Pools outlet... don't forget to share when you win horz... cause.. i don't have 4-D here.. if not i also buy.. seriously.. unless some kind soul will help me buy?

hmmm... where am i now? oh yea, look at the watch again below:

if you notice carefully, the 'crystal' of the watch, it's slightly convex. the 'crystal' for most watches are usually sapphire crystal (scratch proof), however, for this model in particular, it's not. it's 'hesalite crystal', or something spelt like tt... it's in fact not a crystal! it's a acylic! it's like not just plain acylic, but re-engineered kind.. what's so good about it? hmmm.. nothing? it get scratched more easily then the conventional sapphire crystal... but oh, there's actually a reason! omega says, no, NASA says that sapphire crystal, shatters on impact, and the fragments pose a danger to astronauts, however, this form of crystal, even though it gets scratched more easily (not saying it's easy), it dosen't shatter on impact when smashed... not that i'm gonna try out soon... so, it'll be safe for the astronaut... as, when they enter into the earth's gravitational field again, it would pose no danger...
anyway, i think that about it... i can't imagine you guys continue to read this post.. cause, i know you're all busy... and can't be bothered with watched... but yea.. feel free to ask me any questions.. and yea... i will post the brisbane tripS which i had when i have time again.. so, that's about it! have a nice day and enjoy!

to finish it off, a picture of both watches:
p.s i do like my patek better still, and yes, ines watch costs MUCH more then mine!
