ya tian. basically my job is to come up with guidelines for building design in singapore. Before all buildings are built, they have to comply with the guidelines i help to impose.(singapore wants to make these guidelines tigher but doesnt know how tight to make it)

Singapore wants to become a more energy efficient country as it lags FAR behind other developed countries. We emit tons and tons of CO2. Bad. So the government wants to make buildings more energy efficient. To do this research is needed. this is where i come in. I take the parameters of buildings like the windows, wall materials, glass shade, etc and calculate roughly how much electricity will be consumed by the building per annum.

Yes if you want to save energy at home in your house, TINT YOUR WINDOWS OR GET CURTAINS. 50% of your aircon energy is spent removing heat from your house. and 50% of that 50% is from light coming in from your windows.

So yes, as per all researchers my hard work will be printed out and presented to a board of people in the building authority, their bosses will be happy, present it to the government, government happy with the bosses, government present to public, public happy with government.

But the most important thing is, at the moment WORK ROCKS!
