i had the most expensive meal in my life. 200 aussie dollars! at this restaurant in sydney called rockpool. it is one of the top 50 best resturants in the world. we tried the 9 course tasting menu.
6) seared quail and "60 degree" quail egg with pork and prawn pastry, red curry sauce
i am not sure if there is going to be another one. if so, i am betting it is going to be a long long time away. here are the pictures. the food was really good.
1) sterline caviar on prawn toast
2) mussel and saffron broth with garlic cream
ortiz 'gran reserva' salted anchovy with tomato confit on toast
yellowfin tuna with ginger, soy and yuzu jelly

3) marron and various tomato flavoured salad" confit, dried and jelly" with gazpacho
4) seared scallop with stir fried southern calamari , smoked bacon and squid ink noodles
5) pan fried bar rockcod with cabbage, clams, serrano ham, tea smoked potato and herb butter sauce
7) slow cooked rangers valley 300 day grain fed beef short rib with chinese braised shitake mushrooms and spring onion cake
8) vanilla cream cup with strawberries and rosewater granita
9) date tarti don't think i am cut out for fine dining. i am just an average girl, who most probably fit best in like average places hahah. i was already dying after 1 and a half hours. the whole meal took 3 hours.i kept fidgeting around, stretching my legs, etc... but i am going to take it as a learning experience.so next time not so country bumpkin.
